I focus my practice in the areas of accessibility, anti-discrimination, and education law.
I have extensive hands on, high level experience representing builders, developers, colleges and universities, sports and concert stadiums and venues, as well as restaurants and hotels to comply with federal, state, and local accessibility requirements and in ADA and Fair Housing litigation. I represent a wide range of clients in disability and accessibility complaints, fair housing, sexual harassment and retaliation complaints filed with the United States Department of Justice, Arizona Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, the United States Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other regulatory agencies.
My experience includes representing private, public, and charter schools and districts in discrimination complaints and compliance reviews and sexual misconduct cases. I advise clients on policy development and training for educational entities. I have worked with the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, and the National Association of Attorneys General to develop anti-discrimination policy manuals for schools and school violence prevention curriculum and conference. I counsel school districts, private and public preschools and K- 12 schools, community colleges, universities and law schools on employee discipline, accommodation of disabled individuals, leaves of absence, workplace violence, and other human resource policies and procedures. I assist clients with conducting compliance reviews of employee handbooks and human resources and EEO investigations, as well as providing trainings on various topics for Board of Directors, executives,
managers, and staff. I have served as a mediator and facilitator and provides specialized mediation trainings for private sector, schools, and governmental clients.
