Melissa Luxton, MSN, RN is the Trauma Outreach/Injury Prevention Coordinator at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. She manages six injury prevention programs which provide education to community members ranging from elementary aged children to older adults. Her background includes over ten years of emergency and trauma nursing, along with nearly four years of nursing leadership experience, and three years of injury prevention and public health education. Melissa is the current Chairperson for the Arizona Falls Prevention Coalition and serves on several injury prevention coalitions, including The State of Arizona’s Injury Prevention Advisory Council, The Arizona Firearm Injury Prevention Coalition, Safe Kids Maricopa County, and The Arizona Trauma Association’s Stop the Bleed Coalition. Melissa received her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Leadership and Clinical Systems Management from The University of Arizona.
